Error codes list for Kenmore dryer
Code Error Solution
PF
Power failure
There is a problem with the power supply. If you want to restart the appliance, press the Stop button to end the cycle. If this code appears frequently, it is important to check the power cord and the socket for damage.
F01
Malfunction of the electronic control unit main
Unplug the dryer for less than 5 minutes before plugging it in again. If the error persists, you may need to replace the part.
F02
Keypad panel malfunction
This code will appear when one of the keypad panels becomes stuck. You can try to release the stuck key. You will have to replace the panel if you cannot release it.
F20
Heater relay malfunction
In this situation, you must repair the defective heater control relay. Disconnect the dryer from the power supply and replace the defective electronic control unit with a new one.
F22 F23
Outlet thermal sensor malfunction
The main unit will detect an open outlet thermal sensing when you see the error code. Test the sensor resistance by disconnecting your dryer. The tester’s reading should be around 10,000 ohms. Purchase a replacement outlet thermal sensor if the old one is defective.
F24 F25
Inlet thermal sensor failure
If you see an error code, the temperature sensor at the inlet to the main unit has opened. Check the resistance of the part by disconnecting the dryer. The tester should show around 50,000 ohms. If the output temperature sensor is faulty, it should be replaced. Warning: On this dryer, the inlet sensor is used in conjunction with the thermostat.
F28
Moisture sensor malfunction
If you can, disconnect the dryer from the washer and inspect the wires and connections leading to the sensor. If everything is working, you may need to replace your moisture sensor.
F29
Faulty moisture sensor
If you can, disconnect the laundry dryer from the power source and examine the wiring that leads to the sensor. Also, inspect all the connections. Replace a damaged part if everything else is working.
F30
Constricted airflow in the laundry dryer
You can clean the lint filter if it is clogged. The screen may become blocked by fabric softener build-up. To remove the buildup, you’ll need to wash the screen in water and use a soft-bristled scrub brush. You will then need to inspect the exhaust vent system that leads outside your house. If it is blocked, try to clear it as best you can.
F70 F71
Inlet thermal sensor failure
You can disconnect the dryer appliance. Examine the wire harness connecting the main electronic and keypad panel control units. We recommend that if you don’t see any problems with the wiring, or the connections between the two units, call an expert to test the appliance and determine the root cause. The technician will identify which part of the appliance needs to be replaced.
From F72 To F78
Communication error
Unplug the dryer from the mains. Check the connections and wiring harnesses between the two keypad control units for breaks. Then check the connection between the main control unit and the keypad assembly. If you observe that both harnesses are functioning properly and securely connected, there may be an issue with the keyboard assembly itself.
